The Epicure

Ssssh! Please Don’t Tell’s coming to Barcelona.

Ever heard of the Please Don’t Tell bar in New York? Ironically enough, you probably have. Because for anyone that’s tasted their killer cocktails; It’s hard not to drink and tell…

Please Don’t Tell (PDT) is one of New York’s hottest speakeasy’s right now and proves that keeping your bar under wraps is the best way to have everyone talking about it…

This isn’t the place you just stumble onto while bar hopping on a Friday night. If you don’t know what to look for (and if you haven’t booked in advance), chances are you’ll never know what all the fuss is about. To get to PDT, you’ll have to locate Criff Dogs, a hot dog shop in lower East Side Manhattan, once you’re inside, make your way to a phone booth inside the shop, dial once for admission, and if you’ve had the smarts of calling ahead; the nice doorman will let into one of the best bars in the world.

Or, if you’re Barcelona this fall, you can just head to the Mandarin Oriental instead.

For one month, a PDT pop up bar on the Passeig de la Gracia’s, is set to be the city’s worst kept secret. From the 1 – 30th of September, the Mandarin Oriental’s Banker’s Bar will be transformed into a like for like recreation of the New York original… and yes, the phone booth comes along as well.

The pop up will be manned by the PDT’s bartenders, Jim Meehan, Jeff Bell and Adam Schmidt and even though there’s no Criff Dog’s on the menu, the replacement should more than make up for it with some of the Latin world’s best chefs drafted in to create their gourmet version of the world’s favorite sandwich. These include:

Carme Ruscalleda: Seven Michelin Stars.

Juan Roca: Three Michelin – star El Celler de Can Roca.

Angel León: From the two-Michelin star, Chef of the Sea restaurant.

Gastón Acurio: The ambassador of Peruvian cuisine and restaurant mogul. His Astrid & Gastón is considered to be one of the best in the world.

Albert Adrià: Owner of Michelin star restaurants, Tickets, Pakta and co-creator of EL Bulli.

This is a booking only event. If you want to be part of the PDT experience and spend a night at the world class Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, just get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to take care of the rest.
