All eyes are turned towards Switzerland this month as one of the hottest events of the luxury calendar is in full swing. Baselworld 2015 opened last week with 1500 exhibitors and a throng of enthusiastic visitors and journalists, raring for a first peek of the masterpieces which will soon bleed into the luxury market.

Swiss watchmaking is of course the star and company’s such as Hublot are drawing bedazzled visitors like moths to a lamp. However, take one look at their latest collection on display and you can understand why. It’s an effort to look anywhere else!

Baselworld2015

Over the years, Baselworld has steadily focused on exclusively showcasing luxury brands and has shifted lower tier companies away from its lineup. A bold move which has of course seen a drop in the number of exhibitors, but not in the enthusiasm and number of visitors coming to the show.

This strategic decision allows luxury brands to really shine within their niche market such as the legendary watchmakers Patek Phillipe who will be presenting their latest collection at the show.

No show with watches involved would be complete without the famous Rolex, and their new collection from the Oyster and Cellini line are fine examples of discreet luxury done to perfection.

It’s not all about the watches though, jewellers are also given their chance to shine and guys like Salvatore Collaro are doing it with aplomb. His eye catching collection features rare coral work and traditional jewelry which are set to create waves in the industry.
