All eyes were cast on the Peninsula Paris last night as the legendary hotel chain hosted a red carpet glamour event to inaugurate its opening.
A magical world revealed itself to the guests as the Peninsula transformed the streets of Paris into the backdrop of a breathtaking show where acrobats, dressed in the chain’s iconic white livery, shadow danced and dangled from ropes and Air Balloons to the delight of the star-studded guest list parading on the red carpet below.
Hosted by television journalist Valerie Expert, the event was as expected, the place to see and be seen, with high profile actors and celebrities, such as multi award-winning french actress Karine Viard, television presenter Laurence Ferrari and Four Dan Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, all making an appearance.

The night’s entertainment was provided by a host of French talents including a duet between Lou Lesage and DJ Cécile Togni as well as a sensational performance from French model and singer, Inna Modja.
Chef Jean-Edern Hurstel concocted an exquisite menu in collaboration with Pastry Chef Julien Alvarez and Chief Sommelier Xavier Thuizat, which included Dom Perrignon Vintage 2005, copious amounts of caviar and literally thousands of cream puffs and a sumptuous chocolate fountain complemented by over 150 litres of ice cream.
The Peninsula Paris opened on the 1st of August 2014 and is quickly establishing itself as one of the most in demand luxury hotels in Paris. Born from the shell of a former government office, it took 4 years and 338 million Euros to transform the building into the parlor of luxury which now dominates Avenue Kléber.
