The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is the sassy little sister of the world renowned Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. It’s also the more social of the two.
The hotel’s MO bar is filled with people who wouldn’t look out of place on a GQ or Vogue cover and they regularly come to groove to the sound of the bar’s live music, of which some of the most notable performers, include Alicia Keys and John Legend.
Not exactly your type of crowd? Don’t be scared away. Some of Hong Kong’s best restaurants and spas can be found in this gem, and if privacy is an important criteria when selecting a hotel, a limited room count and discreet service should have that need covered.
What’s new at the Landmark?
Since September 2015, guests of the hotel’s Oriental Spa are the only ones in Asia to walk out looking fresher and younger than ever thanks to Dior Skincare products.
Offered as part of the hotel’s 10 year anniversary celebrations, the Dior Prestige Treatment is 1 hour and 30 minutes of relaxing and rejuvenating treatment using only Dior’s top tier range. It’s an indulgence that you simply owe to your body.
But the steamy interiors of the Spa aren’t the only place where you’ll find proof of the hotel’s coming of age. Not unless designer Joyce Wang can help it.
Joyce Wang and compatriot Andre Fu, are proof that there’s something in the waters of Victoria Harbour that breeds talented young designers. In 2014, Wang’s work earned her a World Interior of the Year award (one of the industry’s most prestigious) for her redesign of Hong Kong restaurant Mott 32, and her growing portfolio of work includes Ammo at Asia Society, a collaborative work with Swarovski and now, a redesign of the Landmark Mandarin Oriental.
Room & Suites
With the redesign, the hotel settles into its status as Hong Kong’s urban sanctuary of choice.
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental earned itself a reputation as a den for fashionista’s and Wang’s designs- made with that crowd in mind- is the home sweet home between the shopping sprees, business deals and night’s out these guests dream of.
Interiors are now softened with added color, whilst an interplay of textured materials and metallic finishes and artwork complement each other perfectly. Read on for the selection of rooms and amenities and some incredible pics.
