Out with the old and in with the new! Spring is here ladies and gentleman, and in the spirit of optimism that it brings, it’s easy to make promises to yourself that you may -or may not- fail to keep. To give yourself the best chances to keep your promises, what better way than to start it off with a relaxing spa session. Since the English weather is not so bad in Spring, here’s a little selection of some of the best spas in our Collections.
The Chewton Glen is a hotel made for those who like to feel all warm inside, curled up by a hearth with a good book and some Champagne. Set in the British countryside and only minutes from the beach, this is a proudly British hotel with a heritage that dates to 1966 but with looks that’ll have millennials feeling at home. Guests especially love the hotel for its tree houses (self contained parlors of luxury in the trees) and for its exceptional spa. With one of the largest hydrotherapy pools in Europe and excellent indoor and outdoor heated pools, this is the spa break you’ve been waiting for.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London
Tucked away in the innards of this classic hotel, is a spa so damn good that it’s an absolute shock once you step out into the cold of Hyde Park after a massage session. Guests of the hotel can relax (or workout) in a heated indoor pool, amethyst-crystal steam rooms and vitality pools equipped with massage jets that’ll prep your body for the real thing. For a touch of Sci-Fi in your therapy, make it a point to try one of the relaxation pods (pictured below) and if you want to feel like you’ve slipped into a new skin, the excellent Four Hands Massage, is a must.
Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane
Gentleman be advised, the Four Seasons London at Park Lane may well offer London’s most man friendly spa option out there. The hotel’s Black Diamond Facial sees the age reversing black diamond dust applied to your face and having you walk out looking years younger. An experience made even better by the fact that the Spa is perched high up on the 10th floor of the hotel and sports floor to ceiling windows. It’s a pampering session framed by the London skyline that you will love.
Bulgari Hotel London
The Bulgari London is uber sleek and stylish, so is its Spa, and so are those using it (judging by our latest visit at least). There’s a constant feeling that you have to look the part in this hotel, toned bodies at the Spa, Gucci suits at the bar, unfortunately we pulled only one of those off successfully and we’ll let you guess which. This parlor of relaxation is superbly well designed (smooth oak, granite marble, smooth stone… the works) and its 25 meter indoor pool is one of London’s best kept secrets.
Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa
You’ll leave the front doors of this Georgian Mansion luxury spa kicking and screaming. Set in the English countryside not far from Bath, the hotel seems to have one motto, “Pamper beyond all expectations” and it lives and breathes it. Breakfast in your bathrobe at the hotel’s brasserie is quite ok, so is curling up by the fire with a good book; whatever makes you feel comfortable, it’s allowed. A 20 meter indoor pool serves as the Spa’s centerpiece and its tranquil environment seeps into other areas of the Spa. The Japanese salt room clears the lungs like Windex to a windowpane, and the views from the outdoor Jacuzzi will have you looking up real estate prices in the area. Did we mention the horse riding and Michelin starred restaurant?
