Some events in the UK’s social calendar don’t get discussed much.

Most organizers will tell you that’s a recipe for disaster. But for others, less talk is for the better; even if the most prestigious and expensive cars in the world are the topic.

The Salon Privé is one such event. Held at the iconic Blenheim Palace from 1-3 September, this is one of the world’s most exclusive motor shows. So don’t expect much of a turnout.

Designed to cater to the tastes of discerning guests, the Salon Privé, is a luxurious event without the large crowds and atmosphere one associates with car shows.

Here you’ll enjoy a quiet afternoon among other enthusiasts, testing and browsing the most beautiful machines made by man.

There are no barriers separating you from the vehicles, lobster is on the lunch menu, and Champagne is served throughout the day. There’s no better way to browse the collection of Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Ferraris, and other dream cars you’ll find there.

If you plan on going; you’ll be glad to know that this year’s edition comes with some great improvements to the Salon Privé formula.

For one, the setting has changed. Now permanently located on the grounds of the Blenheim Palace, the Salon now has a venue which lives up to its prestigious standing.

The birthplace of Winston Churchill and family owned, the Blenheim is a symbol of elegance and distinction in Oxfordshire. And if you’re just tagging along, the verdant lawns and grounds of the estate are a pleasure to discover, car lover or not.

Also new to the Salon Privé in 2016, is the test drive and demonstration facility on the grounds of the Blenheim Palace. For the first time in the Salon’s history, guests wishing to purchase a vehicle are able to go for a test drive on the Palace grounds and surrounding area before making their purchase. Even if you don’t plan on splashing the cash, it’s a great excuse to jump into one of these super cars and give them a try…

Where to stay

Oxfordhsire is a beautiful place to visit, Salon Privé or not, so naturally there are a number of hotels to choose from in the area. But, if you want to stay in the spirit of elegance and refinement that the Salon offers, you’re ultimately left with one option and that’s the Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’saisons.  And what an option it is.

Think of the Belmond as a wonderland of luxury out in the English countryside.

Salon Privé

You’ll find everything you want in a luxury countryside here. First of all, there’s the location. The Belmond is accessible via the M40 and is well served by trains, and if you want to make a noticeable entrance; you can always get there by helicopter via the hotel’s private helipad. Less than 2 hours away from London and easily accessible, the Belmond is a hotel of choice for a quick country getaway.

Another reason to go is the food. Headed by Super Star Chef Raymond Blanc, the hotel is home to the best restaurant in the region- or some would say- in England.

The Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons is the proud owner of 2 Michelin Stars ever since its opening in 1984. 34 years without loosing a single star shows incredible consistency and is proof of Raymond Blanc’s creative genius in the kitchens.

There’s many more reasons to love the Belmond Le Manoir aux Qaut’Saisons. The 32 individually designed rooms by Emily Todhunter look gorgeous and the surrounding countryside of Oxfordshire is a joy to explore and behold… even better if its in your brand new car from the Salon Privé.

For more information on the Salon Privé please visit the official website which you’ll find here and as for the best place to stay while you’re there; that’s where we come in.
